Agriculture remains the backbone of the Indian economy, with nearly 60–70 per cent of the population depending on it for their livelihood. Enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring sustainability are among the foremost responsibilities of agricultural education institutions. This objective can be achieved by imparting contemporary scientific knowledge and practical skills in the fields of Crop Production, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Soil and Water Conservation and allied agricultural sciences to the younger generation. With this vision, the College of Agriculture, under the aegis of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Sanstha, Kanchanwadi, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, was established in 2006. The college is affiliated with Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), Parbhani, recognized by the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER), Pune, accredited with ‘A’ Grade by VNMKV, Parbhani and certified as per ISO 21001:2018 standards. The college is situated within the Municipal Corporation limits and is well connected by road networks. The campus provides a conducive academic environment with lush greenery, well-ventilated and fully equipped laboratories, spacious classrooms and a team of qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. Separate and well-maintained hostel facilities for boys and girls are available within the campus. The institution also offers a digital library, indoor and outdoor sports facilities and a secure campus equipped with security personnel and CCTV surveillance to ensure a safe and disciplined learning environment. The institution is committed to holistic development through quality education, research and extension activities, with the aim of producing competent agricultural professionals capable of contributing effectively to sustainable agricultural development and rural prosperity.
